PLAYOFFS 2008 Final SCHEDULE and RESULTS:
LEGEND: Highest Regular Season Final Position Determines Home Team. "Seed" refers to how a Team FINISHED the REGULAR SEASON

Home Team/Visiting Team: The Home team is the team that finished higher in the standings of the regular season. The Visiting team will have choice for the start of the game. The Home team will have choice for overtime.

Game Balls: The Home team provides the game ball except for the finals when the CDMFA will provide a game ball for the winning team to keep.

Championship Games: The VP or a CDMFA representative will award the game ball to the Head Coach of the winning team and the Trophy to the Team Captains.

Game Sheets: During the playoffs will be using the on-line BLANK game sheets. The registrars and scorekeepers have access to these. Fax it to the VP as soon as possible (less than 12 hours) after the game.

Scores: You MUST Send the score to the WEBMASTER within 12 hours of the Game so that we can post next weeks games by NOON on Monday.

Rosters: Please provide an accurate and complete players list (NUMERIC ORDER!!) to the PA Announcer before your game.

Minor Officials: There will be timekeepers, PA announcers and spotters as well as stick crews provided by the CDMFA for all playoff games (Except Wildcard Tournament).

Dressing Rooms: Most venues have 4 dressing rooms. However, Johnny Bright has only two that are available so please remove your items from the dressing rooms at half-time for the next Teams that will be playing.

Bantam Overtime Rules for CDMFA Play-Off Games 2008

The following rules with relation to tie games in CDMFA play-offs have been adopted. Overtime rules rules are as defined in the Canadian Rule Book for Tackle Football (2006) with the following exceptions, they are as follows:

A) At the end of a tied game, players will be sent back to their respective benches and the officials will meet in the middle of the field to review these overtime rules.

B) The captains from each team will be escorted to the center of the field ... The Home team will have choice for overtime.

C) Home Team will choose from the following options: 1) field the offence or defense team to start the series or, 2) which end of the field to use for the overtime play.

D) The team on offense will start a series (first set) from the 35 yd line of their opponent. (short end of the field). After that series, the other team will start a series from the same 35 yd line. If still tied, then they will have another set of series (second) from the 35. If still tied, then they will have another set of series (third) from the 25. If still tied, then the series (4th and subsequent) will continue from the 25 but any touchdowns will require a two point conversion attempt (kicking for Atom and Peewee).

E) SCORING- Current CDMFA scoring rules are in effect. A kicked convert is worth one (1) point; a passing or rushing attempt is worth two (2) points. Teams scoring a touchdown are not required to attempt a one (1) point convert after the first overtime series is played.

F) TIME OUTS- there will not be any team time outs allowed in overtime.

2007 Bantam Playoff Results

The Sherwood Park Wolverines emerged as the CDMFA's Tier I Bantam Champions for 2007, defeating the Black Raiders 3-0 on the strength of a third-quarter field goal in a tremendously hard-fought contest. The Wolverines had knocked off their cross-town rivals, the Northstars and the Rams, on their way to the title game. In Tier II action, the Spruce Grove Cougars took the league title with a 20-7 win over the St. Albert Fury. The Tier III game saw the Chargers take a convincing 53-6 victory from the Blue Seahawks, while the Tier IV game saw the Mustangs beat the Stony Plain Bombers 45-8 to claim the title in their first year of existence.

In Provincials, this season saw the CDMFA send two teams to the Tier I Provincial playoffs, as the Raiders and the Wolverines both proceeded to advance. Unfortunately, neither were successful; the Raiders succumbed by a 14-7 count to the Calgary Hilltoppers while the Wolverines went down to a 44-0 defeat to the eventual Provincial champs, the Raymond Comets. The Tier II Provincial Title went south as well, as the Cougars could not get past the Foothills Falcons. In Tier III Provincial Final play the CDMFA fared much better, as the Edmonton Chargers were victorious over the Brooks Roadrunners by a 20-7 score.

Congratulations to all our CDMFA Champions and Provincial representatives, and especially to the Chargers on their Tier III Provincial Championship!!

HOTMAIL email addresses are often protected by HOTMAIL and often view at any "form" send outs as SPAM. As a result, chances are that HOTMAIL accounts often DO NOT GET their messages from places like cdmfa.com or if they detect the same letter to multiple accounts.
It is therefore HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that we DO NOT take from kids/adults email addresses that have @hotmail.com extensions.  If people INSIST in giving their hotmail email address as their primary email address you need to inform them that unless they CHANGE THEIR SETTINGS within their ACCOUNT they may miss getting emails from their Club/Team and/or League.
